CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to the families who came along to our 2nd Working Bee for the year. Our task was to freshen up the front gardens of the school. A particular thank you to Paul Dumesny and Adrian Parkinson for providing trailer loads of mulch.
Next week we welcome Charlotte Dumesny from Emmanuel College for Work Experience. Sam Kenna and her family begin their big trip around Australia for the remainder of the year and Janine is due back from her European Tour. Isabelle Dix has done an amazing job of keeping the office ticking along in Janine's absence.
It was great to see so many parents browsing the book fair and selecting books with their children and thank you to those who did an online order. Every book sold benefits our school library.

SUSTAINABILITY NEWS
For the rest of the year we will be having a fortnightly focus that the entire school will be working on. Each assembly we will discuss what our new focus will be and why it is important to us, not just here at St Pats but out in our community as well. We will be monitoring throughout the week how we are going with our focus and announce a winning classroom each assembly. We gained this new idea from when we attended the awards day at the MCG last term. We got to speak with other schools from Victoria and share ideas.
This week's focus is:
What SHOULD be going in our yellow bins and what SHOULD NOT.
Last week we noticed a lot of rubbish that was in our yellow bins that should have been in our red bins. Things such as wrappers from snacks, coffee cups and tissues just to name a few.
Did you know that even if the yellow bin is contaminated with just a small amount of waste that should be in the red bin, the ENTIRE yellow bin then needs to be put into landfill.
A JOB WELL DONE!
What a great team of workers we had for our Term 3 Working Bee! Thank you to all who contributed.
