CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT
FROM THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
The school year continues to fly by as we reach the end of Week 5 of Term 4. There is still a lot happening around the school as students engage in excursions, sporting activities, play rehearsals and of course our core learning.
Our Year 5's enjoyed visiting Emmanuel College on Monday this week, as they had the chance to participate in several different classes there. On the same day, our Year 6 students showcased their ability with the bat and ball, competing against a number of other schools in cricket. Our Year 3/4 students participated in "Spring" sports today and of course our swimming program is still in full swing.
A big well done to all our students who were able to display our core value of being respectful and representing our school in a respectful way during these different activities.
Today another Parent Update on Essential Assessment has been released, please take a moment to look over the academic achievements your child has made in the two learning areas on the update.

PROPOSED JAPANESE STUDY TOUR
Proposed Japanese Language and Culture Study Tour 2024 - (For Year 6 students in 2024)
We are beginning to plan for the proposed 8 - 10 day study tour for September 2024. We will be visiting Doshisha Elementary School in Kyoto. A group of Doshisha students will visit St Joseph’s Warrnambool and St Patrick’s, Port Fairy in March 2024 as part of our partner school exchange. For the trip, we are planning a number of excursions to places such as TOEI Kyoto Studio Park and Fushimi Inari. Students will be staying in hotels or similar accommodation as a group. This study tour is dependent on sufficient student numbers, available staff and support from the Network schools. See attachment for more information.
If you are interested, please contact arobertson@spportfairy.catholic.edu.au or complete the attached EOI Form and return to school by Friday 17th November.
Register your interest in the Information Session for parents and students at St Joseph's Primary School at 4pm - 5pm on Wednesday 22nd November by clicking on this link, https://sjpswarrnambool.
THRIVING KIDS & PARENTS PROJECT
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted children’s social and emotional development, resulting in increased levels of anxiety and significant challenges in developing healthy peer relationships.
What is The Thriving Kids and Parents School Project (TKPSP)?
The TKPSP aims to strengthen partnerships between schools and families by offering three FREE, highly relevant Triple P – Positive Parenting seminars for parents. These seminars are online and parents who register will be provided the Zoom link via email.
The project offers 3 free, high quality, evidence-based parenting seminars and a complementary webinar for teachers to help parents and schools to develop a shared language and a toolbox of strategies to support children’s learning and wellbeing.
The parent seminar package includes:
Power of Positive Parenting (Triple P Seminar)
Helping Your Child to Manage Anxiety (Fear-Less Triple P Seminar)
Keeping your Child Safe from Bullying (Resilience Triple P Seminar)
Parents/carers:
1. Register for the seminar series and complete a short (15-20 minute) online questionnaire.
2. Attend three online seminars in the TKPSP series (90 – 120 minutes each seminar)
3. Complete two questionnaires (15 minutes) at 6 weeks and 12 weeks after the first questionnaire.
