CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
As Mother's Day draws near, it's not just about showering our own mothers with gratitude – it's a moment to recognise the profound impact of all those who embrace the role of motherhood. It's a time to ponder how we, as a society, can uplift and support mothers everywhere. As we gear up for Mother's Day on Sunday, 12 May, let's celebrate the diverse tapestry of relationships that define women's lives. I wish all mothers and those in a mothering role a happy day on Sunday. For those of us who are remembering our dear mothers, may they be smiling down on us with their endless love.
The Term 2 School Advisory Council meeting is next Tuesday May 14 starting at 7:30pm in the boardroom.

Children are invited to walk, ride or scoot to school with their mums for the Mother's Day Breakfast on Walk To School Day.
CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK CELEBRATIONS
On Monday, our Year 6 students visited Emmanuel College to celebrate Catholic Education week. They joined St Pius, St John's, Our Lady Help Of Christians, St Joseph's and St Patrick's Koroit year 6 students and Emmanuel College’s Year s7.
During recess they got to interact with the other students before moving into the Emmanuel Entertainment Centre to work with Tom Richardson.
Tom taught the (all most 500) students some body percussion movements as they sang along to:
Taylor Swift - We are never ever getting back together, The man and Anti hero
The Beatles - Hey Jude
Pharrell Williams - Happy
Over all, the Year 6 students had an amazing day at Emmanuel College. Thank you to Tom Richardson and Peter Morgan for making this day special for all of the students involved in celebrating Catholic Education week.

SCHOOL TV - SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS
“Social media influencers often present a highly curated and filtered version of their lives, showcasing only the positive aspects. This can create unrealistic beauty standards, success and happiness for children. Constant exposure to this may lead to feelings of inadequacy, low self-worth and dissatisfaction." Dr Emma Woodward
Social media influencers wield significant power, shaping opinions, particularly among young people. However, their impact on youth mental health is concerning. It is therefore crucial for parents and caregivers to guide a young person’s social media use, encourage open communication, and educate them about the realities of social media influencers. ENROLMENTS 2025
AUSTRALIAN EARLY DEVELOPMENT CENSUS
During the month of May all schools are required to complete the Australian Early Development Census for children in their first year of full-time schooling. This census assists in building a complete picture of early childhood development in Australia, so that the government can better understand and respond to the needs of children and their families. If any parents/carers do not consent to the collection of their child's information please contact the school.
