CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
With the winter blast this week our new school beanies are getting quite a work out. They are available from the school office or CDFpay.
I will be heading to Ireland and Scotland at the beginning of the last week of term and returning to Australia at the end of the holidays. I will then continue to be on an additional 3 weeks long service leave. Tristan Fay will be the acting principal in my absence with support from the very capable leadership team and office staff. It will be business as usual and you'll hardly even notice that I'm away. This is my principal enrichment leave that is allocated to principals who have been in the job for 8 years. Mine was due at the beginning of COVID, so it's long overdue. I will be travelling with 15 other principals and DOBCEL staff. Of course I will miss you all!

PODCAST - EPISODE 2
The students have released a new episode of our school podcast. This week's episode is hosted by Ben, Claudia, Eadie and Kolo from our Student Leadership team. You can access the podcast by clicking the link below or searching "St Patrick's Port Fairy" on Spotify.
LEARNING SHOWCASE - JUNE 19
On June 19 from 2.30pm until 4.00pm our children will be showcasing their work to their parents. This is an important part of our reporting process. It gives the students an opportunity to talk about what they are proud of and what they are working towards as a learner. Parents will have an opportunity to look at workbooks and ask questions to find out about the learning that has taken place during Semester 1.
PARENT / TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Have you booked your appointment to meet with your child/ren's teacher/s in week 11?
The interviews are on Tuesday June 25 and Wednesday June 26 in the afternoon.
The interviews are for parents only. The children will be having a Learning Showcase on June 19, where they will be able to show you what they have been up to in the classroom.
To make your interview booking, log into your PAM account, click on the Parent Teacher Interview Button and click on your child's name.
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
Jump Rope for Heart kicks off during the last week of this term.
Jump Rope for Heart is the Heart Foundation’s primary school skipping challenge that helps kids move more, have fun, and raise funds for life-saving research and programs.
Register your child online, so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fundraising, simply follow the link to get started. www.jumprope.org.au/parents
Students will be skipping during the term in PE lessons & break time, during this time you can share their online fundraising page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause.
We will hold our school Jump Off Day, on a date to be confirmed, this will mark the end of the program and is a chance for everyone to come together to skip and show off their newly learned skills.
Thank you for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!
FREE BINS ANYONE?
Now that we no longer have a camping facility here at the school during the Folk Festival, we have a surplus of bins that we don't need. If anyone would like an extra bin for whatever reason, please come and take one.
They are not Moyne Council collection bins; therefore, they cannot be used for general kerb side collection but may be useful for taking rubbish to the tip, storing recyclable bottles and cans before taking them to the CDS collection centre, storing sports equipment or wood.

SCHOOL TV - PARENTING STYLES
Raising children can bring great joy as you watch them grow and develop into unique individuals. The relationship parents and caregivers have with their children will have a huge influence on their lives. Most parents learn about parenting ‘on the job’ and grow into their role with experience.
Whilst there are several parenting styles discussed in this special report, children benefit most when parents are warm and loving, providing clear guidance and support. Understanding more about different parenting styles and their affects on children, will help you decide what kind of style you may want to adopt.
To help you determine which style of parenting you use, complete the quiz below. Once complete, a report can be emailed to you with your results.
LIBRARY SHELVING
Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to assist in shelving borrowed books in our Library. You have been rostered on for a week but we only expect you to come in for a short time and later in the week is best.
