CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT
FROM THE ACTING PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
Term 3 is now in full swing, the students have all settled in and there is lots of excellent learning happening right around the school!
It's great to hear students discussing the Olympics as they eat their lunches, walk between classes or engage in conversations with staff. There has been a significant increase in the number of students playing 'Rugby 7s' (from zero a week ago to many these past few days) and I feel this is what the Olympics are all about. We can only hope that our students are feeling inspired to pursue their own dreams, whatever they may be.
To capitalise on this enthusiasm, many classes are exploring the Olympics in a number of different ways. You may like to ask your child about what they are doing to celebrate and learn about the Olympics at school.
Mrs Lyons returns to school on Monday and we are all excited to welcome her back. I would like to thank all the staff for their support while I filled in for Mrs Lyons, I feel very lucky to have such professional and hard working colleagues.

BOOKWEEK - AUGUST 19 -23
Book Week is coming up in Week 6 (August 19th - 23rd) and will culminate in our Book Week dress up day on Friday August 23rd.
The theme for Book Week this year is 'Reading is Magic' and whilst not compulsory, we do encourage students to dress up in a book character that matches the theme.
The costumes do not need to be elaborate and being creative is encouraged - no need to buy anything new for the occasion. The point of the week is to celebrate reading and encourage reading more often and students will participate in activities throughout the week to support this.
BOOK FAIR THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair. The Fair was a great success and we received $572 in commission which will go towards resources for our Library.
Special thanks to Jane for her organisation and running of the Fair.
