CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been lovely to hear the carols being rehearsed around the school this week in preparation for our Carols Evening on Friday. They sound fantastic! We will be starting at 5.30pm in the hall.
After advertising vacant leadership positions internally I am pleased to announce that Benson Steere will be our new Deputy Principal, Abby Lee will be returning as our Learning & Teaching (Literacy) Leader. Monique McCartney has agreed to pick up the Sustainability Leader role from Benson. We look forward to their leadership in 2025.
After much deliberation I have decided to take one day a week as Long Service Leave in 2025 and only work 4 days. Benson Steere will be the Acting Principal on Wednesdays. I will also be taking 10 weeks of leave in the middle of the year (second half of term 2 and first half of term 3). Obviously I haven't been very good at taking my LSL over my career and need to use it up before retiring at the end of 2025.
Thank you to those who have volunteered or are still considering volunteering for parent roles in 2025. Chris Shiells and Mandy van den Berg will be joining the School Advisory Council. I want to extend my gratitude to Jo Mackenzie who is leaving the SAC after being a valued member for 4 years.
Our Final Assembly will be next Wednesday beginning at 2.00pm. The Year 6 and Foundation students will be featuring at this assembly.
Our final newsletter will be published next Wednesday.

Advent has a two-fold purpose:
It is the time when the Church longs for the coming of the Lord. In this longing the Church looks in two directions, so to speak.
• Reflecting on the Lord’s first coming as a child born to Mary in Bethlehem
• Looking forward to his second coming as Son of Man at the end of time.
Advent can be overwhelmed by the attraction of Christmas. Let’s give some space to the Season of Advent. It’s our spiritual preparation time during which we ready ourselves for the feast of Christmas and the Christmas Season.
Advent Week 3 theme is JOY!
