CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Carers,
The Foundation Athletics morning was blessed with beautiful weather as well as energetic and enthusiastic children. This event is such a delight to watch.
Our St. Patrick's celebration activities were a huge success. There was every possible shade of green being worn, with shamrocks tattoos, green nails, face painting and ribbons adorning the outfits. We had our final mass with Fr. Bill for our feast day before he moves to his new appointment in Mildura. We thank Fr. Bill for his pastoral and liturgical support over the last 3 years.
I encourage those who can, to support Ride 2 School Day by riding either a bike, scooter, skateboard or skates to school tomorrow morning.
It's also Harmony Day this Friday. Our classes will be participating in a liturgy and having a Mexican lunch. Hamish from our local Mexican cafe will be talking to the students about the Mexican culture and cuisine. Please remember to send the correct money to school with your child to place their order. This is a good opportunity for the children to experience managing a cash purchase... something they don't get a lot of opportunity to do these days.
The Year 6 children participating in the Reconciliation Sacrament this term will be joining with children from other Warrnambool and District Schools for a Reconciliation Retreat and Formation day with Maria Forde at Emmanuel College on Monday.
Next week we have children going off the represent our school in the Greater Western Regional Swimming in Horsham and the Moyne Athletics Carnival in Warrnambool. We wish them well and hope they all do their personal best efforts.

ST PATRICK'S DAY

RIDE 2 SCHOOL & HARMOMY DAY

YEAR 5 NEWS

In Year 5 we have been incredibly busy. We have spent the last few weeks completing the National NAPLAN tests. We do all of our tests online so it makes our eyes really tired. We even had to type our narrative story.
In Year 5 we are involved in the ‘Banqer’ program. Banqer is a digital platform where we all get paid a wage each week. We had to apply for special classroom jobs which pay us more money. Freya and Matilda are our bankers. This week we get to spend some of our money in the ‘Banqer Shop’. We can buy new whiteboard markers, erasers, pencils, pens, stickers and small toys for a price. These expenses come out of our wage.
CONFIDENCE & MOTIVATION

Building confidence and motivation in young people is essential for their development and overall wellbeing. Supporting these traits means encouraging your child to set realistic goals, celebrate their achievements and learn from setbacks. Confidence allows young people to believe in their abilities, face challenges with resilience and feel empowered in their decisions. Meanwhile, motivation drives them to pursue interests, strive for personal growth and stay engaged in school and other activities. By fostering a supportive environment at home, parents can help nurture these qualities, providing their children with the tools they need to navigate life's ups and downs and maintain a positive, proactive mindset.

NEW QUIET PLAY AREA DURING ASSEMBLIES

New Quiet Play Area During Assemblies
To ensure our assemblies run smoothly and without distractions, we are opening the back room in the hall as a designated quiet play area for younger children. This space will allow little ones to play quietly while still being part of the school community, helping to maintain focus for the students presenting. We kindly ask that parents supervise their children in this area and encourage quiet activities. This space is to be left neat and tidy. Thank you for your support in making our assemblies a positive experience for everyone!
